In 2022, we believe smart automation will have been unconsciously assimilated into our daily lives, regardless of where and when. Did anyone ever try to understand when the term 'automation' was first introduced to this world? 'Automation' was first employed in 1946 to describe the rapid, increased use of automatic devices and controls in mechanizing the production line. At the heart of smart automation as part of the digital transformation journey for the manufacturing industry is connecting people, machines, products, and services to streamline the flow of information, enable real-time decisions, and enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.

As such, the industry institution collaboration with Tunku Abdul Rahman University College Penang on August 26, 2022, gave us a good platform to share our growing journey with the students who are currently studying in the Computer Science & Information Technology field. Mr. Koh Dim Kuan, an ex-Tarucian and co-founder & CEO of Sophic Automation, had given a clear image of the business nature of Sophic and the journey from the beginning until now. As a co-founder of the business, he put in the effort and courage to introduce his business to the outside world, which people at that time were still unfamiliar with. Maintenance is easy, but creation is hard. Eventually, he successfully brought the business on the right track and made it visible to the world.
